Job Description – CNC OD/ID Grinder
Delta Gear is an AS9100 and ISO9001 registered facility which manufactures precision gears, shafts, splines, carriers, housings, gages, master gears & other geared components and gearbox assemblies. In addition, we provide contract gear and CMM inspection services. We are also a NADCAP approved non-destructive testing facility and currently provide Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Nital Etch.
Description – CNC OD/ID Grinder Position:
The acceptable candidate shall be required to set up and operate CNC OD and ID grind equipment with minimal supervision. Grinding faces and diameters holding tolerances of between .0005"-.00005." Ability to inspect faces and diameters using micrometers, gages and amps. Maintain proper documentation of SPC data and collaborate with management staff and supervisor. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques is helpful. Overtime generally required. 1st piece and in-process inspection of work required.
Job Requirements :
Set-up and operate CNC OD/ID grinder to meet production and quality requirements.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to operate machinery as required
- Verify part quantity with the job traveler
- Make machine adjustments as required to maintain print specifications
- Load and unload machines as per the cycle time noted on the traveler
- Set-up machines
- Determine when wheels needs replacement
- Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs
- Use inspection methods to determine size changes
- Understanding blueprints & travelers
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Required
Shift/Hours : 1st or 2nd Shift (Afternoon)
